Commercial Art
INDUSTRY SECTOR
Commercial art provides visual information about a product or service with the intent to sell. Commercial art is mass-produced in print, digital, or other mass media forms to reach a wide audience. This pathway commences in 2024-2025.
COURSES
All courses will meet a-g CSU/UC eligibility. Courses meet fine arts requirements for graduation.
Commercial Ceramics (Concentrator)
In this CTE ceramics class, students explore the world of ceramics and pottery. Through hands-on experiences they learn techniques and skills to create functional and decorative pieces while learning history and culture in ceramic making. They team to create and maintain studio professional standards. Artistic skills include clayprep and properties, hand-building technique, wheel throwing, surface decoration, artistic expression, and college and career pathways. Students develop virtual portfolios, evaluate work, produce gallery displays, present, and display for sale and show.
Commercial Ceramics Honors (Completer)
This course is in development and scheduled to commence in 2025-26.
