- The Dance program at Royal does not at this time include a competitive aspect and therefore cannot be included in the Title IX figures. However, the 2022-2023 dance program includes both male and female athletes.
- Stunt Cheer is a CIF sanctioned sport for female athletes. Sideline Cheer is not a CIF sport and therefore cannot be included in the Title IX figures. The Sideline program has included male athletes in the past, but there were no male athletes in 2022-2023.
What is Title IX?
The objective of Title IX is to avoid the use of federal money to support sex discrimination in education programs. Title IX applies to traditional educational institutions such as colleges, universities, and elementary and secondary schools.
Your Title IX Advocate
Every school district that receives federal funding is required to designate and/or adequately train at least one employee to coordinate the recipient’s Title IX responsibilities. Title IX regulations also require the name and contact information of each Title IX Coordinator be made public by the educational institution. Every complaint is investigated and you will receive a written response on how SVUSD will respond to your concerns within 60 days. If you don’t agree with that response, you can appeal to the California Department of Education.
Any complaint alleging noncompliance with Title IX should be directed to:
